I’m Kellie Stonestreet, the founder of Westwind Equine. After spending 11 years working in a saddlery in my hometown of Ashburton, my husband and I moved to sunny Nelson in 2017, where Westwind Equine was born.
The name “Westwind” is close to my heart – it was the name of my grandparents’ stud sheep on our family farm. My nana, a lifelong horse lover, has always supported my equestrian journey, so it felt only fitting to carry this family connection forward.
From day one, my goal has been simple: to provide quality, New Zealand-made equestrian gear at great prices. With over 12 years of hands-on experience in the saddlery industry, I know the importance of equipment that not only looks good but also lasts. That’s why:
- All gear is made from UV-protected, high-quality PVC in a wide range of colours.
- Every fitting and material is carefully sourced in New Zealand – no shortcuts, no compromises.
- Every new product is tested on my own horse before it is released.
