Let me introduce myself, I am Kellie Stonestreet and I started Westwind Equine in September 2017, after being employed by a saddlery for 11 years in my home town of Ashburton we decieded to pack up our home and move to sunny nelson, which is when Westwind Equine was started, The name is very special as it was the name of my grand parents stud sheep which was on our family farm, my nana is very fond of horses and has followed my journey with my own competiton horse so I felt it was all very approiate.

 

 I had one goal in mind when creating my lovely small business and that was quality New Zealand made products at great prices.I feel I have achieved this having great products at great prices and with a huge range of colours.

 

A little about myself, I have 12 years experience in the saddlery industry which has mainly been sewing, anything from new gear to repairs and anything else in

between, so I have plenty experience to create that special colour combination

 

All my products are made from high quality UV protected materials sourced totally by myself, all my gear made from PVC is high quality, strong and durable with a wide range of colours, all fittings used are also all of high quality and nothing is spared to try and cut costs. My canvas covers are also made from the toughest and strongest material available in NZ.

My husband and I have a 6 hectare lifestyle block in hope near Richmond, we take pride in our property and love working hard to get it the way we would like it. With the addition of a 20 x 60 all weather arena it means I can hire it out to local riders.

I have been involved in competing for many years starting with pony club and moving onto showing and jumping. I love the presentation of a show horse which also shows through in my work now as westwind equine. I have just the one completion horse who is multi champion in the show ring and are now turning our hand at dressage.

 

Having been riding and competing for a long time I know exactly what everyone likes and doesn't like and always try my new products on my own horse first.
